On Monday, January 20th, as the nation celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., another celebration was taking place at the New Mount Olive Baptist Church in Harvey, Illinois. This celebration, hosted by The Southland Ministerial Health Network, honored Thomas Windom Group CEO, Stanley Watkins and four other esteemed individuals, who have committed themselves to upholding the character of Dr. King, with a Spirit of Excellence Award. Rev. Stanley Watkins received the award in category of Community Advocacy.
Throughout his 40-plus year career in politics Rev. Watkins has worked tirelessly to keep communities informed on electoral and policity issues. Additionally, he has simultaneously worked to keep community issues at the forefront of the platforms of political candidates and elected officials.
